AfroMedica is a non-profit, tax-deductible organization designed to meet the medical, humanitarian, and spiritual needs of the people in English-speaking countries of Africa. Most of the more than 910 million people on the continent have little or no access to quality medical care, especially in remote rural areas. Most of the doctors in these countries practice in the cities, leaving the rural areas with no medical care except for that of untrained workers, including those who use witchcraft and folk medicine. As a result most mothers receive no prenatal care, and up to 10% of infants die at birth or before their first birthdays. Many of these children die of preventable childhood diseases as a result of the lack of vaccines.

The goal of Afromedica is to build 1200 medical clinics in these nations over the course of the next ten years. As we train local medical personnel to care for their own people and raise the funds to continue providing care,  these clinics will grow into full-fledged hospitals. The need is great, but with your help we can provide jobs as well as save lives by giving medical care to hundreds of thousands of people who desperately need it.

There are two ways that you can partner with AfroMedica:
     1. You can be part of a medical/humanitarian team that travels to selected countries to provide short-term care or help to build a clinic
     2. You can make a donation to help provide funds for building a clinic

In most countries $250,000 will provide a medical clinic, an educational building for health/literacy/spiritual training, a clean water supply, and food gardens surrounding the complex. By partnering with Afromedica you will make a permanent difference for entire communities who lack the basic care that many of us take for granted.
